Desang-Oct24-Issue156_Final_FCReporting on the ongoing developments in diabetes kit, there have been some companies and organisations that have been there for the whole journey. The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) has been one of them. It’s undergone a rather marvellous transformation and evolution. Talking to its global members, the idea of a name-change and rebrand took hold. And voila, we have Breakthrough T1D. It’s a more focused, precise name.
As the name and look were revealed I came on board as a proper fan. Literally loving it, hence it’s our cover story. We will continue to cover its work going forward. The same people are there, seeing over the change and generally holding the line!
Meanwhile, there’s news and updates on KIT. We look at whether or not current advice is for us to use a mediswab prior to injecting or putting on an infusion set, and whether using an adhesive remover is a good idea when taking off an infusion set or CGM. Following that, there is our regular food news, an overview of some cheeky new sauces and a look at old British orchard fruits in our Making Carbs Count column with a suitably seasonal recipe.
