Many of us may shout at the telly when diabetes is badly represented and Diabetes UK has launched a new resource for scriptwriters and producers to encourage a better representation of diabetes on screen. Its ‘Top Tips For Writers’ guide outlines what is known and not known about the condition, the differences between Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, and the that the condition is not ‘one size fits all’. Engaging further with social media, the charity has teamed up with Lego artist Brickabetes with a video that aims to dispel the myths and misunderstandings associated with diabetes. The short film features Lego figurines acting out everyday undertakings but addresses what are often misunderstood aspects of living with the condition which can often cause people with diabetes to feel hurt and frustrated. https://youtu.be/D11XP19nrWI
