JDRF’s virtual Fusion event provided people living with Type 1 diabetes the possibility of accessing support and information on how to use medical technology to manage their condition.
The free event, Fusion: Type 1 Diabetes Tech for Experienced Users, took place on 5 December via Zoom. It brought together HCPs and people with Type 1 diabetes to talk about current and upcoming technology, how to access it and where to find further support.
The sessions included Type 1 Technology – an update on all things including looping by Dr Sufyan Hussain (Consultant Diabetes and Endocrine Physician at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital and Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at King’s College London), and Sara Hartnell (Principal Diabetes Dietitian for Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Trust). Then in Lived experience: Med Tech and Me
Ben Smith and Tim Street talked about using med tech to manage their diabetes. Conor McKeever, Research Communications Manager, JDRF, gave a talk on the charity’s funded technology research programme for accelerating access to treatments and technology.
